The Shaman is one of the new characters set to appear in Dream BBQ. They give the player the quest "Get a motherboard", tasking Ena with getting a mother.

Appearance

The Shaman is a masculine humanoid character with light skin, a pink nose, and gray hair that droops into a beard. They wear a blue robe and hat decorated with a yellow star and moon pattern. As shown in a piece of Fangamer merchandise, the robe covers their legs, and they also wear blue shoes.

History

The Shaman was first seen during the gameplay portion of the second Dream BBQ trailer, with only the top half of their body visible, showing them to have a wizard-like appearance. The character's name had not yet been revealed at that time. A GIF featuring the same character was also posted on February 17th, 2023, simply showing a loop of their scene shown in the trailer.[1] The announcement of Fangamer merchandise came with a preview of sticker sheets that also showed part of the character's hat and head. The merchandise was released on the Fangamer website on May 2nd, 2023, revealing their full body.

The Shaman also appeared in an image of a prototype of a quest board, in which they are represented by an icon (possibly a placeholder) resembling a wizard from Old School RuneScape. The icon also resembled the wizard-like character from the trailer, but it was originally unclear whether they were the same character. According to the quest description, which reveals their name, they tell Ena that she has to go to get a mother. The player must purchase or find someone who can adopt Ena, although some parents prefer to adopt rats rather than other entities.

The Shaman was eventually confirmed to be the wizard-like character from the trailer through an ENA Discord server role created by one of the developers. The role is granted through the -role shaman command, adding an icon of the character as they appeared in the trailer next to the user's name.
