Tools
Tools are items given to Ena in Dream BBQ that help advance the story, quests, and gameplay.
Tools are usually found hidden around certain areas or are received from characters after completing certain questlines, with some tools usually being required to complete other quests. When one has a tool, they can select it from the tool select screen to use it.

History
The first usage of item-like objects first appeared in Temptation Stairway in the form of the Turrón and Blood ID items. Both items are obtained from minor characters and are used to benefit Ena on her adventure through The Great Runas's residence. These benefits range from pointing out directions (such as when the Turrón is given to The Shepherd) or opening up new pathways to travel through (such as when the Blood ID is given to Mariya and Gabo). A similar occurrence also appears in Power of Potluck when Ena receives the Theatre program from Ivy, though this is the only instance in the episode where item-like mechanics are shown.
The concept of tools (and the time they were first referred to as such) was revealed during an ENA Day 2022 Twitch stream discussing various aspects of Dream BBQ. They were generally described as items that would help Ena on her journey. Alongside this, a rough animation of one of the tools's cutscenes was shown: an item known as "The ultimate Board member" (which is simply a disembodied head) is planted into a section of bone-filled ground by Ena, causing the head to grow a towering body as Ena falls back.
In the second Dream BBQ trailer, Ena can be seen wielding various objects in the trailer's gameplay segment. These include a gun and a lantern-like device with a spinning pinwheel inside. Though it is not specified if these are tools, the lattermost object appears to benefit Ena by pointing where to go when met with a fork in her path, which fits the description of tools helping Ena throughout her journey.
Trivia
- While it cannot be obtained in-game as of the Lonely Door chapter of Dream BBQ, a small hole found in the caves underneath the Uncanny Streets shows a duplicate of Ena holding the lantern-like device shown in the game's second trailer. This may foreshadow this tool being obtainable in a future chapter.
