The Uncanny Streets is a location in the Lonely Door chapter of Dream BBQ.

Description

The Uncanny Streets is a large open area split into a bright side and a dark side. The starting orange area is the bright side while the upper blue area is the dark side.

The bright side has orange ground, yellow roads, and a red bridge dividing the town in two. On the starting side is a circular roundabout, a large gray ship, a cave entrance, and various other locations. On the other side, the environment is darker and above this area are floating islands, including a platform at the top housing the Orb which contains what resembles a giant red fetus.

The dark side of the Uncanny Streets resembles a graveyard. It features stony walls that form the shape of a crooked maze. Graves of different shapes dot the ground while coffins fill some of the holes in the walls. This is the area where the Purge Event is found.

Overview

Uncanny Streets Bright

The Uncanny Streets Bright largerly consists of an open area where various characters can be interacted with and talked to. Most paths lead out from the roundabout found right outside the ship. A few bus stops can be found around the Uncanny Streets Bright.

To the right of the roundabout is a group of buildings and some open areas. A circular object can be seen buried in some of the ground, and Taski Maiden can be seen walking around it. Savannah grass has a chance to spawn near this object. Near this area, a building is actively being destroyed by a Wanderer.

If Ena approaches the bridge, she will be unable to go past due to Hoarder Alex blocking the way. She can receive a job from him to block the eyes of a Watcher. If she applies Mayonnaise to the Watcher, Alex will still not let her past, but will be unable to stop her upon being attacked by said Watcher.

To the right of the bridge is the Taxi Driver and FEN. If one tries to use the taxi without talking to FEN first, he will call Ena over repeatedly. He gives her a job to locate the Taxi Driver's Heads. If one talks to the Taxi Driver after collecting his heads, they can go to the dark side of the Uncanny Streets. The taxi cannot be used if Seal House has been destroyed. A broken building can be found near this area, on top of which the Watcher that is staring at Alex is standing. At the very top of this building, another Pet can be found.

Ship

Ena enters the Uncanny Streets through the Lonely Door and the first area she enters is the Ship. The interior consists of a hallway containing three figures resembling Theodora strung up. Walking from the hallway towards the stained window, decorations arranged into a face with hands can be seen, before being called by Froggy. In that call, she discovers that attempting to mention the word "genie" will result in saying "bathroom" instead. After getting a glimpse into the town outside, the door to the outside will open.

A shop where Dahlia sells beauty products can be accessed from the Red Maze. There is also a door that leads outside. Atop the ship is a gate, some blood stains leading to a Pet, and a door leading into the Theatre. If the "Candidate Review" achievement is completed, Taski Maiden will appear in the Ship.

Roundabout

The roundabout can be found just outside the ship. In the center of the roundabout is a circular coin-like golden object, on which is the default respawn location where Ena will respawn most often if the player ends up walking too far out of bounds or when a save is reloaded. In the roundabout, Ena can pick up jobs from Shoryo and The Witches around the roundabout and from the Shaman who is found inside a tent with a seal head on top referred to as Seal House. Yellow paths lead out from this area to other areas. There is a chance for a golden toilet near the Roundabout. Timothy Rundle will appear near there after Hoarder Alex dies and the player reloads the location (e.g. by going into Seal House). A bit behind the Seal House, a Pet can be found.

Seal House

Seal House is a tent with two arms and a tongue sticking out, with the head of a seal on top. Inside the tent is a pool of pink liquid and a totem-like object. The Shaman appears after interacting with the pool.

Theatre

Not to be confused with a location with the same name which appears in Power of Potluck.

The Theatre[2] is split into two sections. Distant noises of a theater play in both sections.

The first section is a room with walls made of purple bricks, infinitely reflecting mirrors, and a pole which when interacted with teleports Ena to the second section.

The second section is a room with walls made of purple bricks, a pole that sends Ena back to the first section, and a passable wall. The wall leads to a room with boxes and two paper cutouts of people. There's also a hallway that leads to a pole, which when interacted with teleports Ena to the top of the Ship.

The Theatre can be accessed from a door on the deck of the Ship.

Gutsy Caves

The Gutsy Caves is a maze-like area consisting of building walls and sandstone, flowing water, and pulsating green walls. Small green entities can be seen pointing ways forwards. An Ena lookalike can be seen through a window, which disappears after one looks away. In these caves, one of the Pets required for Shoryo's job can be found. The Taxi Drivers Head can be found here, which allows access to the Uncanny Streets Dark. There's a hidden area behind a large gap; jumping and walking into a wall in a seemingly empty hallway reveals another hidden area.

It can be accessed by crouching into a hole in a building found near the roundabout, or by crouching into the Taxi Driver's sleeve.

Night Hill

The Night Hill is a hidden street which can be accessed by using the taxi before recovering the heads. It has Handsome there, who gives the "On a Night Like This" achievement if interacted with. There is also a door leading into the Red Maze. If the Taxi Drivers Head has been found, Night Hill can no longer be accessed as the taxi will instead take Ena to the Uncanny Streets Dark.

Red Maze

The Red Maze has red brick floors, white walls with red pillars embedded into it, and windows that feature moving shadowy figures. A droning noise occasionally plays here. The maze is split into three levels, with objects in it that help traverse it. Trash cans lead out of the maze, doors lead to other parts of the same level, and dark holes lead to other levels. Holes on level one and two lead to the next level while holes on level three go back to level one.

Taski Maiden can be found roaming around level two. There's an area marked by blue floor at level three, with a hole on the ground that connect to Dahlia's area in the ship. Entering Dahlia's shop grants the "Advanced Consumer Society" achievement.

It can be accessed from interacting with one of the doors in Night Hill.

Northern Gorge

The Northern Gorge is found across the bridge. Many Watchers can be found in this area, both on and around the buildings. Far above the northern gorge of the Uncanny Streets is a collection of floating broken buildings and structures. When venturing deeper into this area, a fog effect will gradually darken the sky. A path continues from the bridge spiraling into the center where a clock tower can be found, which is where Ena finds Maude. At the other side of town, Ena can help Maude get back to her friends using the crane. Doing this in one try rewards the "Crone Operator" achievement. She can then talk to the Witches again to receive the Motherboard. The Motherboard can be given to the Shaman to get the Humanboard, which also results in the destruction of both Seal House and the taxi. Using the Humanboard, Ena can get on top of various places. This allows her to meet the Bus, Squeedly Headman, Storm Cell, or the Wanderer destroying a building. Petting the Wanderer rewards the "Weird Dog" achievement. Ena can also use the Humanboard to get onto the floating islands and ascend to reach the Orb.

Ascension

When the Humanboard has been acquired, Ena is able to start climbing towards the Orb above the northern gorge. The path upwards consists of various broken up buildings and structures and as she ascends higher, initially a fog will set in, and then gradually the wind will start blowing stronger and stronger. The platforms will lead to a circular rotating platform with three paths extending outwards. A giant gray head can be seen opening and closing with wind coming out, pushing Ena to the side. Two of the paths are dead ends, while one leads forwards. Along the correct path, the wind intensifies. There are platforms that require jumping between to reach the final area, which features a white entrance surrounded by four Angels. Going into the light sends one to the top of the Uncanny Streets. Here, a gray head with red eyes can be seen attached to the Orb, and when interacted with, it swallows Ena whole and later Ena will find herself in The Core.

Uncanny Streets Dark

The Uncanny Streets Dark is found above the Uncanny Streets Bright and can be accessed by taxi after finding the Taxi Drivers Head. All the paths are dead ends, except for one that can be found close to the golden door. This path leads to leads to the entrance to the Purge Event, which resembles a giant ear pierced with and surrounded by gold rings and has booming music coming through. However when approached, a cutscene will play where a building falls from the sky and crashes onto the ground leading the path to be blocked off and an alternative route must be taken by platforming up to an upper part of the Uncanny Streets Dark to find a way back. The Uncanny Streets Dark are primarily populated by Watchers which can be found walking and crawling around in various pathways and tunnels, sometimes into corners that lead to dead ends. When looking up, the bright side of the Uncanny Streets can be seen, but upside down.

Going up from the taxi leads one to similar corridors, with Watchers appearing and running away upon being spotted. Ena can exit from a ledge, allowing her to access the ear. If she does, she is locked in to the entrance to the Purge Event. The way back is gone, replaced by walls and a door. She will receive a call from Froggy questioning her on what she is doing. Ena can interact with Counter Eye to gain access to the Purge Event.

It is possible to go on top of the Uncanny Streets Dark by jumping on coffins. Yowadama can be found there, and a circle of Watchers can be found beneath a cliff.
