Receptionist
“Raah, encore vous ? Allez-vous-en ! Vous suintez la pauvreté ! Allez manger des plats surgelés, sale limace à col rose !
("Ugh, you again! Go away! You smell poor! Go eat a TV dinner, you broke, pink-collared slug!")”
― The Receptionist, Dream BBQ
The Receptionist is a character who appears in Dream BBQ. She is one of the characters that populate the Hub, running the reception desk on the bottom floor.
Appearance
The Receptionist is a largely abstract character resembling a human or a robot made up of various floating, geometric parts. Her body consists of two stacked purple blocks with the bottom one being thinner, with two rounded green shapes at the top. Her arms consist of purple and green shapes as well, with her upper arms, forearms, and claws being green and her round elbows and wrists being purple. Her head consists of a hollow, cone-like shape with four red triangles on the top.
Accompanying the Receptionist are three blue televisions, all depicting vivid footage of a feminal person with long, black hair, sunglasses, and a face mole, all plastered on a pinkish-purple backdrop.
Personality
The Receptionist is a snobby, money-driven individual. She often considers wealth for worth as in her and Ena's first interaction, she continuously shoos Ena away and calls her "poor" and "broke". She also breaks down when Ena calls her "poor with words" and "cheap".
Reluctantly, despite her initial displeasure, she is willing to share information about the Hub's Doors to Ena, so she does maintain some level of professionalism.

Trivia
- The Receptionist continuously uses the pronoun "vous" to refer to Ena, which indicates a level of respect that one would typically show to strangers. This contrasts Hoarder Alex's less formal choice of pronouns.
- The Receptionist is the sixth ENA character to have their name be a job, the other ones being the Auctioneer, Keeper, Merchant, The Shepherd, and The Therapist.
Cultural references and inspirations
- The Receptionist's line "Come back when you're richer" may be a reference to a line of dialogue by the character Morshu from Link: The Faces of Evil.
