Kane is a character who appears in Dream BBQ. He is one of the characters that populate the Hub.
Appearance
Before interacting with Kane, he initially appear as a white piggy bank with golden cracks. A fiery meteor falls from the sky, shattering the bank and revealing Kane's true appearance.
Kane is a bipedal feline creature largely made up of coins resembling koban, which make up the entirety of his limbs. His head resembles a white bag with a pink brim and cat ears, decorated with a wide-eyed cat face. He wears a large blue shirt with a white lining and white sleeves that has the kanji "金" drawn on it in black.
Personality
Kane is energetic and loves partying, usually keeping a positive attitude when talking with Ena despite her initial aggressive response to him claiming he is the Boss. He is particularly determined to reach the Bathroom, despite being seemingly unaware of one of the Genies being present there, and claim to be a big fan of the Lonely Door.

Trivia
- Kane's name comes from the Japanese word かね kane meaning “money.” The character 金 written on his shirt is the kanji spelling of this word. Kane pronounces his name as Кейн (/keɪn/) which is rather different from how the Japanese word is pronounced. This is an influence from English spelling where e is silent and changed the vowels pronunciation.
- If the player talks to Kane three more times after his initial interaction cutscene with Ena, he will be struck by the meteor that hit him as a piggy bank, and he will go completely silent, remaining as an unresponsive pile of coins and clothes for the rest of the game. As the last automatic save point occurs after interacting with the Receptionist for the first time, the player can simply exit to the main menu and load their save again to revive Kane.
